Life based on conditioning
Ok, here we go. I know I’ll get some negative feedback on this one if anyone cares to comment. How we arrive at our current beliefs, I believe, are based on two things: the environment we developed our beliefs in and what we believe to be truth. Most of the time, if we grow up in a certain home environment, we tend to carry the way we were rasied over into our adult life and relationships, mainly because that’s all we know. This could be good or bad. The fact is, we all come to a point where we must decide on our own how we’re going to live and what we believe. Those who are alcoholics or hard to live with and blame it on how they were raised are blind because they do not believe they have a choice. I once heard a stroy where two brothers were raised by an alcoholic dad. One went on to college and became a successful business man and the other turned out to be like his dad, an alcoholic with no job. On different occasions, they were asked, considering your circumstances, how did you get to where you are now? Their response was, ‘what did you expect?’ Life really isn’t based on how you were rasied and how your past life was lived, but is based on the moment in time where you decide for yourself that no matter how you lived before, that you will purposely live your life to the fullest from this moment on. In the end, it’s how you handle life, not that you let life handle you.
