Passion

Conformity. What conatations come to mind at the sight or sound of this word? I would wager that most would be negative, or, at leaste border line at best. It seems I am hearing about confomity from the media lately where actresses are conforming to the mold to get parts in tv shows or movies. I hear stories of kids conforming to gain acceptance in thier circles before they are dumped. This hit home when I found out an 18 year old cousin of mine found out she was pregnant and just out of high school. The place I would like to hear of conformity more is in the church, but even now, it is spoken of more about being cool rather than actually conforming our minds to that of God’s. I am all for creativity and the arts, and even espressing our faith through said creativity and through the abilities God has blesed us with, but it seems that when the Church talks about using abilities, it’s talking about pleasing someone instead of using them to reach the lost and with a right heart. There is nothing wrong with the various art forms and using them for God, but what’s the condition of your heart behind why you’re doing what you’re doing? It is true God will judge the motives of our hearts on why we have done what we have, but I feel we must ask ourselves, why are we doning what we’re doing and why? So many times we are leaving out groups of people while we struggle to reach others. I have also seen where others complain about how we reach others even when we include them. We must change with the times, and I pray we all will realize this. The question we all must ask is, what would God have me do in this instance, then go with it whole heartedly.

choices

The season premiere of Heroes debuted last night with a 2 hour episode. One of the twists in this season is to see which heroes turns good or bad. One of the tag lines I heard was, ‘Your abilities don’t make you a hero, it’s how you use them.’ How true this is in everyday life. Looking back into the Bible, we see where Jesus made some choices. Those who liked Him, liked Him because He chose to live what He believed. Those who hated Him, hated Him because when He lived what he believed, it took away from them. The fact of the matter is there are right choices to make and there are wrong choices to make. Each choice we make has the potential to affect someone somehow, partly because we don’t always know who’s watching us, and they could very well be wactching us to see if we’re living what we believe by the choices we make. Don’t ever think that a descision you make will only affect you. You and your choices may be the only Jesus someone may see.

Evan Tanner

As a habit, one of the things I do each morning is check my e-mail. After I checked my e-mail this morning I noticed where a UFC fighter had been found dead in a California desert. This caught my eye, being a student of the martial arts myself.  There weren’t many details but it is sad to see someone go. I do think it is important to have things in order, becaus you just never know. Evan was only 37, which is sad and proves even more that you never know.

life should be more than just wonderful

It has been some time since I have blogged. Sometimes I get in the mood to write something, and tend to stick to just e-mailing it. There’s nothing wrong with that, but since I don’t have an active mailing list per se, some may not benefit becaue they didn’t recieve the e-mail. Here as of late, I’ve been putting alot of effort into the radio station I operate and getting interviews together to broadcast, then turn into a podcast. I’ve had a pretty good response and I have enjoyed speaking with everyone. I have been encouraged by the talks I’ve had with these people. The people I speak with are independent artists who love doing what they do. I feel more life coming out of these people than most of their counterparts in the mainstream. To me, it’s refreshing to see someone doing something because they enjoy it and not just to grow their bank account, even though money does have to be considered. I feel blessed by getting to speak with these people because it seems my outlook on life now is a bit more optimistic now. Rock on !!!! and follow your heart/dreams.
