Testimony
August, 1986. I was 13. There was a Revival going on at the little Baptist church I was attending at the time. I had grown up in and around church all of my life and had been to many revivals before, but the difference this time was that Truth had finally been revealed to me. it wasn’t as if everyone had been lying to me before, but it was more like a veil being lifted from over my eyes. It was almost like when someone tells a joke, it goes over your head, and a few minutes later, you get the punch line. I had finally got it, but it wasn’t that as much as it was that the message had been made real to me. Since that day, life hasn’t been the easiest, but life is a bit more bearable than what it could have been. Most of that could be because of my outlook on life, which is there’s more to this life than what meets the eye or working from 9-5. Life in Christ is more about making each moment count while it’s here, because we may not have tomorrow. I have found that if we, ‘preach the Gospel always, and if necessary, use worlds,’ to be true, because most everyone has heard what we have to say, but it’s when we show them that our actions are backing up what we say that they begin to ask questions. It has to be real also. People know when they’re being had and when we’re being fakes. I have had to learn this the hard way in my walk. The times that I had been real are the times people have come back to thank me for because sometime after an encounter, they actually accepted Jesus for themsleves. I fully believe in the Bible, and the message is as true and relavent now as it ever has been. Jesus can still work through people now as He has for hundreds of years. I’m living proof of that.
